Judith Slayden and David Warren Hayes Grant to Combat Human Trafficking

These grants support the work of Christian ministries that are focused on providing support to victims of human trafficking.

This grant, established in December 2006 by Judith and David Hayes, shall be used exclusively to fund efforts to combat human trafficking through public awareness of the issue; addressing the underlying poverty and other socio-economic issues that can foster trafficking; and provide counseling to those who have been victims of this horrible crime.  Such efforts may include education and awareness of the issue to prevent its growth; development of micro-enterprise businesses to provide wages for victims of human trafficking; housing, counselling and/or job skills training for past or potential victims of human trafficking; and other efforts specifically related to prohibiting human trafficking and aiding its victims and those at risk. Distributions will be approved by the WMU Foundation Awards and Nominations Committee.  It is the intent of the committee to award two grants each year: one to a domestic entity and the other to an international entity.

Your grant application must include an endorsement from a representative of WMU (or one of its family of ministries) using the form linked on this page.
