As Connie Dixon completed her term as national WMU president earlier this week, we celebrate the way her leadership, discipleship, and love for missions continue to encourage women and girls to live on mission for Christ.
A Legacy Shaped Over Time
Some legacies are shaped over time. Not in a single moment, but through years of faithfulness.
Through lives that are steadily formed by the Word, by the church, and by the people God places around us.
For Connie, that shaping began early.
As a young girl, she was surrounded by women who faithfully poured into her life through the church and through WMU. Week after week, she learned what it looks like to follow Christ, care about the needs of others, and understand that the gospel is meant to be shared. What was poured into her during those early years took root and continues to bear fruit even now.
A Deeper Call to Missions
Years later, while attending a national Acteens event with her daughter, Connie sensed God leading her toward a deeper commitment to missions. It was not the beginning of her faith, but it became a meaningful moment in her understanding of God’s calling on her life.
From there, Connie continued to serve faithfully through her local church, discipling others and leading in a variety of roles with WMU, eventually serving at the state level and now as national WMU president. Her leadership flows from a genuine desire to help others know Christ and understand their role in His mission.
What was once poured into Connie did not stop with her. It continued through the way she lived, the way she served, and the way she encouraged others to see that they, too, are part of God’s great mission.
The Ripple Effect of Faithfulness
Throughout her years of leadership, Connie has consistently pointed others toward a simple but powerful truth: missions is not reserved for a few. Every believer has a role to play, and the call to make disciples is not optional but essential.
