A $5,000 HEART Fund grant was just approved to assist those affected by the shooting at Michigan State University on Monday, February 13, 2023.
Three students were killed and five others were wounded, some with life-threatening injuries. This HEART Fund grant will assist churches in responding to the post-traumatic stress in the lives of students and staff. This will include things like resources as well as short-term and long-term counseling.
WMU and the WMU Foundation established the HEART Fund in response to the tragic events that occurred on September 11, 2001. Grants from this fund allow Baptists to provide direct relief and rebuilding assistance to disaster victims in the United States and around the world.
