LAWRENCEVILLE, GA | MAY 22, 2025 — On Saturday, May 17, Central Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, Georgia hosted its Farewell Celebration Ceremony, commemorating a legacy of faithful service and introducing the recipients of the newly established Central Baptist Church Legacy Fund.
Representatives from 15 faith-based organizations gathered to receive certificates of recognition, symbolizing the church’s ongoing commitment to the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. The WMU Foundation was among those honored, with Foundation President, Peggy Darby, in attendance to receive the recognition on behalf of WMU ministries.
“I was deeply honored to represent the WMU Foundation at the closing ceremony of Central Baptist Church—a congregation with a rich legacy of missions and ministry,” said Darby. “We are humbled to be one of the recipients of a legacy gift given that day. This generous contribution will support both the Vision Fund and the Marti Solomon Endowment for WMU, ensuring that the spirit and mission of WMU continues to thrive for generations to come.
