New Orleans, LA — April 22, 2024 — The WMU Foundation is proud to announce that Cindy Walker was honored with the esteemed Rosalie Hunt Devoted Patron Award at the Louisiana WMU State meeting in New Orleans, LA on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
The Rosalie Hunt Devoted Patron award celebrates WMU Foundation patrons whose unwavering dedication and commitment make an eternal difference in missions education.
As a member of both The 1888 Circle and The Sustainers Circle, Cindy’s steadfast support has been a driving force in advancing the Foundation’s mission to further the work of WMU. She has also generously given her time and expertise as a former WMUF Board member, serving three separate terms and significantly contributing to the WMU Foundation’s growth and success.
When asked about the influence of missions education on her life, Cindy shared, “I can’t even imagine my life without involvement in missions education. For me, it’s a part of what we as Christians are supposed to do — to learn about ways that we can reach people.”
Walker says she lives her life by the slogan, “When we know, we care; when we care, we share.” Cindy shares, “Missions education helps us to know the needs, which pricks our hearts to care, and that is when we become willing to share our prayers, our time, and our resources. To me, that’s why WMU and missions education are so important.”
“We are thrilled to honor Cindy Walker with the Rosalie Hunt Devoted Patron Award,” said Peggy Darby, President of the WMU Foundation. “Her unwavering dedication to missions education and her profound generosity in supporting the ministry of WMU through the WMU Foundation exemplifies the spirit of Rosalie Hunt and serves as an inspiration to us all.”
