We want to invite you to embark on a journey of impactful generosity through Peer-to-Peer Fundraising. Join with us as we seek to support WMU’s unwavering focus of making disciples of Jesus who live on mission through missions discipleship, leadership development, and compassion ministries.
Peer-to-peer fundraising is a dynamic and community-driven approach to fundraising that empowers individuals to mobilize their networks in support of a common cause. It can be as simple as asking for donations to a favorite cause from friends and family, or even creating occasion-specific fundraising campaigns (like social media birthday fundraisers).
Why Should I be a part of Peer-to-Peer Fundraising?
By being a catalyst for peer-to-peer fundraising, you are becoming an advocate for the many causes you support through the WMU Foundation. Peer-to-peer fundraising not only increases the reach of these ministries, but also fosters a sense of community among those who give. When you share with your friends and family an easy way to give to the WMU Foundation, you are furthering the work being done by your state WMU and various other Christian Ministries.
How to participate in Peer-to-Peer Fundraising.
The WMU Foundation has made it easier than ever to participate in peer-to-peer fundraising. Now with our new giving system, at the top of any giving page you’ll see a button that says “I want to fundraise for this.” Once you click that button you’ll walk through a few simple steps to set up your campaign. Once WMU Foundation approves your campaign, you may then begin sharing your custom campaign link with your community and encourage them to give with you to reach your goal.
YES! Simply locate the fund or endowment that you wish to support and follow the steps to begin fundraising.
You are strongly encouraged to begin your peer-to-peer campaign by making the first gift. This will demonstrate to your friends and family that you are committed to make an impact for that area of ministry.
YES! You can choose to do a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign any time of the year. Whether it is your birthday, the anniversary of a milestone event in your life, or just because you want to help expand a ministry that is close to your heart. All you have to do is set up your campaign and share it with your family and friends.
Please contact us via email ([email protected]) or phone (1-877-482-4483) and we will be happy to help walk you through the process.
While fundraising for charities to celebrate your birthday is popular on Facebook, the charity you are supporting does not receive 100% of the gifts made. Additionally, charities often have to wait several months for the donations to be sent to them in one lump sum. By using our online peer-to-peer fundraising software, the donations made by your friends and family are received within 24 hours of when their gift is made. We will know who made the gift and can thank them for supporting your campaign.
